It doesn’t take a long time or lots of work to mow your grass correctly. Therefore, you don’t have to worry about spending all day changing your routine to try and have a lawn full of thick green grass. Just follow the tips listed below.
Tips for mowing your lawn the right way:
- Always keep your mower blades sharp and in good shape. Replace them once they become damaged or begin to dull too quickly. Dull blades do more damage then good.
- Clean out from under your mower after each use.
- Avoid letting the grass grow too high before cutting it. This leaves too much cut grass on the lawn which can kill the healthy grass.
- Keep the same air pressure in all of the tires on your riding mower and keep the wheels on a push mower in the same notch all the way around. This allows you to cut the grass evenly.
- Don’t cut your grass too short! This is the biggest mistake most people make and it kills the grass causing it to turn yellow and die out. You won’t have to cut it more often if you leave it between 2 to 3 inches high but you will be able to enjoy thick green grass that looks great.

It’s up to you if you want to tell them it only took a few extra minutes and the time to learn how to mow the right way.
