Women love to decorate and create and while it may be a bit stereotypical your guy won’t complain when you create a man-friendly back yard. Think of it as the man cave-outdoors! Not only can you create a back yard that is attractive and will be pleasant to use for you but you can also incorporate a few tactics to make it more man friendly. Of course knowing your man and what he likes will play a large part in the back yard creation.
If you have a sports guy, don’t fill the back yard with delicate flower beds and dainty lawn furniture. Stick to planting your flowers around the edges to give him space to play where he won’t have to worry about tackling someone in the flowerbeds or shooting at a target tacked to a very expensive ornamental tree. No matter how concerned you may be with appearance you can find a happy medium that will suit your sense of style and his need for space and comfort. Place some heavy duty lawn furniture around such as wood Adirondack chairs and carved wood benches or tables. Men need a place to kick back and just relax too.
If you really want to make him happy put together an outdoor kitchen area with a grill, countertop, mini fridge and lighting so he can putter outdoors all evening cooking you dinner and enjoying it with you in your back yard. No matter what you choose to do to make your back yard man-friendly he’ll appreciate the thought and may even be convinced to use some of that space to build you a nice gazebo!
